Alice Southby was the daughter of Charles Southby (1752-1834) and Alice Burch Gleed, of West Isley (which is why they were staying at that location in 1851). He was, in turn, the son of Richard Southby (1711-1752) and Frances-Elizabeth Head, son of Richard Southby (1677-) and Naomi, son of Richard Southby (1647-) and Elizabeth, son of Robert Southby (1604-) and Anne Mayott, son of Richard Southby (1570-) and Jane Keate.

Comments: I have very recently discovered that I am related to the Freebodys. I was adopted & have been looking for my birth mother, it seems she was the daughter of Nellie Florence Freebody. Your website has shown me relatives I never knew existed, thanks!

Comments: There are a lot of Freebodys from our boat place on the River Thames at Caversham Reading that I would like to find out about. Thanks to your site this might now be possible. Also my cousin Peter Freebody from Hurley also on the Thames. Thank you for all your hard work (Original Message: October 13, 2010, 10:00 pm).

Comments: Hello, Great site, really interesting especially with the photos. I married into the family and have spent some fascinating time researching Peter FREEBODY'S family and their life on the Thames. I've placed their tree on Ancestry.co.uk. It's still being updated, I'll never finish it all. (Original Message: January 12, 2008, 10:52 pm).
