1881 Census: Living 2 years old with the family at 1 Prison Street, Woking. Her father was an assistant prison warder at the time.

1891 Census: Cannot find, but suspect mistake in completing the census, and Bertha was probably with the family in 3, Gloucester Terrace, Portsea, Portsmouth.

1901 Census: Was a General Domestic at 114, Mattison Road, Tottenham.

1911 Census: Bertha was living at the family home in 5 Alexandra Road Landport Portsmouth. Also living there was her son Douglas Theodore Freebody, and her future husband James Moore.
