A Brief Outline of One UK Branch of the Freebody Family Tree.
What is certain is that my interest in finding out a little more coincided with a period of time I worked with a Mr Frank Davis. Frank had been researching various lines associated with his family for a while, and his enthusiasm was infectious, and his assistance invaluable. This all happened for a few years in the 1970s. It is a time consuming hobby, and unfortunately work and home commitments did not allow that time. In 1979 I put all of my notes away until I retired from work in the year 2000.
The introduction and development of the Internet has now provided a means of gaining information that would previously have been unavailable. I have had the opportunity to correspond, and exchange information with a number of people across the world. It will be evident that I am not experienced in building websites. In 2003, I made this attempt, and have kept the site 'alive' by making alterations, and updates all with a large amount of 'trial and error'. However, I do hope that this site is of some benefit to other 'Freebody' researchers.
Finally, it has not been possible to contact every relative of the people mentioned on this site. Therefore if I have published information that you would prefer was not in the public domain, please let me know.Best Wishes

Graham FreebodyMy Own Family Tree Site |
Welcome to my own family tree site. The purpose of the site is to share information gained whilst researching my family history. It may be of use to those researching the history of a 'Freebody' family, or researching a family that is associated with a 'Freebody'.
My branch of the family (my direct line) has, as far as my research has uncovered, always been resident in the UK, specifically England. Some relatives within the generations researched have travelled to other countries and settled, namely Canada, Australia, New Zealand, and the USA.
I do not know exactly why I started on this research, and the results do not seem to equate favourably with the amount of time expended. My own parents were not gregarious, and rarely talked about the rest of the family. Perhaps I started because of the odd comment such as "your Granddad was on the same milk round as the famous English comedian Benny Hill" (never proved and very unlikely), or "a number of your ancestors were named after famous military people" (some were).
